The Ties That Bind

another morning...
"have-to's" swirling around her
like the raindrops beating outside her window~
gathering momentum as she begins her day-
pulled like taffy~
her wants and wishes
getting buried
under that pile
of "have-to's" (instead of "want- to's")
relegated to be done another time;
shackles holding her down
from the day she envisions having...
maintaining and placating the moods of many-
she is Everything to Everybody
but no one to herself...
checking her (almost maxed out)inbox-
a new message...
"It's Not Too Late to Plan For Your Dream Life!"
she sardonically smiles
and presses delete

I hope she is able to break free and live her life. So many people can relate to this poem. The ties that binds is the perfect title for this piece.

Usual regular chores but penned extremely well.

She won't need to press delete for long;for her "have-to's" and want-to's" shall get balanced well sooner, rather complementing each other.

It needs courage and light, both to be able to press DELETE..when we are in our comfort zone..and shackled..

Thanks for your nice tackle of shackles..

Well done!!!

Thinking of deleting it is usually enough for a life change. Great words.

To keep one and all happy sure is a burden too heavy.

So well written. "she is Everything to Everybody
but no one to herself... "

Don't we all like to hide behind that 'Delete' button! :) But we have to try it once in a while to make sure it still works.
..
Did you ever wonder where those words have gone when you hit the delete button?
