I have a major situation in my life that needs resolution sometime really soon. I don't like confrontation and that is what needs to happen to facilitate closure and I think that's why I am so anxious about it, of course avoiding that in any way possible. As a result of this, I spend way too much time thinking about the situation, the different cause and outcome scenarios and probably obsessing over this way too much. It makes me feel very distracted and kind of disconnected in my thoughts and concentration.
The prompt this week is "Thinking" courtesy of Jim. Please visit the OSI site to see other talented poets. Here is my haiku:

lots of random thoughts
flitting around in my head
makes it hard to think

major distractions
want closure from this problem
need some calm thoughts back

don't know what to think
know in my heart what to do
life-changing outcome

Oh Patti, been there, done that. I do hope it is for fun things and not something life 'shaking.' We all need upgrades in our lives but certainly we do want to avoid the unpleasant ones even when they too might be for our own good.
I am glad you have searched your heart, don't they say that 'the heart knows best?'
Your poem so aptly describes a situation like you must be feeling, probably almost a constant buzzing feeling going round in your head.
I have prayed for you and will do that more.
Thank you for doing this prompt. I thought it was almost too simple and common place but it is getting a lot of excellent responses.

Hope your confrontation goes smoothly. They're never really easy, but it's good to resolve things between people. Best wishes.

Were you reading my mind and thoughts! I have a situation that has become a "vampire" in my life. Just draining.......
Hope yours gets resolved soon and I'm hoping mine will too!

(speaking of vampires.....have you watched "True Blood"?)

Random, chaotic thoughts.. they distract, certainly.. And they can pile up as a monstrous, added weight, that squeeze the life force out of us.. It certainly takes a humongous effort to bring back the "calm thoughts"..

The waiting and ruminating is ALWAYS worse than the actually conversation. I say deal with it today or tomorrow so that you can enjoy the rest of the summer!

Hello
Just found your blog and was excited to meet another blogger in the Chicago area.
Sorry you're having a negative experience right now. I hate confrontation also and I have learned that I give other people too much power...and that's what builds up the situation. Take back the power and deal with it as soon as you can. My best to you.
Blessings
Rebecca

patti...
follow your heart on this one, not your head !

these things are hard, but are meant for a reason in order to cleanse what's obviously not sitting well with you...and if it's life changing, then let a new chapter begin !

Boy this was perfect for me this week to read ... I dislike confrontations & unpleasantness to the inth ... very sad & distressing week. Had to let go of a situation with great sadness. Today is better & far happier. You NEED to put a follower on your blog so I can tap into you ...

Oh my heart goes out to you.
the waiting, the doubting, the hesitation, the fear-- pure anguish. follow your heart and remember to breath. whatever the outcome, we make peace and move on.
All the best

Good luck, Patti, I hope all goes well. I love Jim's idea of an 'upgrade' so fitting so many times.

I think we can all relate to your poem.

Sometimes we do have to push ourselves beyond the "comfort zone" there's just no other way. It will be worth it in the end Patti.

Take care, G

Hi Patti,
Reading this post makes me just want to wisk you away but instead I am sending you prayers for the courage and peace you need to get through this.
It's amazing, you were there for me when I was down and you left the sweetest comment about my Mom's Pillow. I come to visit you again and now you have something heavy on your heart.
I might not have the right words to say but my thoughts are with you...
everything vintage

Hi Patti,

The show is an HBO series. We don't have HBO, so I went to the library (my favorite place) and checked it out. Still love Twilight better, but it's an interesting show (a bit graphic though).
