Winter's warm embrace
wraps her arms
around our hearts
insulating them in her softness
as we gather
our dreams and memories and prayers
to go deep
deep into Winter's soul
where a sense of
quiet
stillness
peace
transcends over all~
while above-
the faded light
slowly returns~
slowly returns~
gifts are readied
stars shine bright-
especially one,
and
especially one,
and
angels gather~
in anticipation
and hope...
This week's prompt at OSI is stillness- please check out the other poems that incorporate this word.
I hope this Winter brings to you a sense of stillness in your corner of the world.
PEACE!

i have learned to embrace winter a little bit....after almost 5 years of being back here in wisconisn, i just can't fight it completely...it's too tiring.

Wonderful poetry...
"Winter's warm embrace
wraps her arms
around our hearts"
Love these lines... :)
The pictures are gorgeous..
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.. :)
A very nice OSI, Patti. Your still peace transcending over all certainly fills the bill. So descriptive with a poetic ring.
(If you like winter it's all wonderful.) Me?
Winter's cold quiet pall
cold wrap cruel to inards
rough hands of wind wear raw
bits of hope we might have
sullen dark nights of wet
devils lurk sour our soul
That's what I think of winter.
I'm ready for spring. We've had two days of winter and it looks like a couple more this week.
..
Did you know that I grew up in Nebraska? That was 21 years too much of winter except for a few fun days.
..
..
p.s. I might steal your Peace pictures. They are beautiful scenes.
