Winner!

to win
is to triumph
over challenges
adversaries
hurdling forward
making attempts
to move ahead
yet~
winning isn't everything
the winning is
actually
in the doing;
the risking
taking action
and sometimes
that can hurt,
but unless you
take that risk
to move
to do-
you won't know
the result
and regardless
of the outcome
because of that
action or risk
you are
the winner!
The prompt at OSI this week is "winner." Please check the other poems out!

Sometimes we don't want to take that action, but you are right, it makes us a winner regardless! What a good thought!

Sometimes that's the hardest thing - taking that 'risking' step. Excellent poem!

Isn't that the truth, that the winning is in the actual doing. There's a certain accomplishment in just putting forth our efforts.

I think I know now why I love winter. Snow is insulation from risk-taking. My own thought process is off-road. Your poem is gorgeous.

Lovely poem.It is obvious to us that struggle is part of the game to win but we nonchalantly become indifferent to it. And therein lie our problems.....
