Dropped!

Last Friday was just a ho-hum kind of day at school- nothing really going on- just getting stuff done in my room and trying to clean off my desk and counter for the end of the year. One of my "perks" for this year is my schedule. My plan periods fall before and after lunch so I basically have 2 hours to myself some days which is really nice, as a few of my friends have this same schedule. The weather was absolutely Springtime At Her Best (for Chicago)- warm, gentle breeze, crystalline bue skies...you get the idea... and my friends came up with the idea to get out of the building and go for a ride (we HAD to take Karen's convertible- with the top down, of course!)to one of the nature preserves in town for our time. What a wonderful breath of fresh air this was! We went to Lake Katherine in Palos Park and just wandered around for awhile until it was time to get back (darn !!!). The area is filled with different gardens (waterfall, bird and butterfly, heritage), a waterfall, a serene lake, lots of wildlife; both carved out of wood and real, flowers, and a pier that look so inviting to just sit and dangle my feet in the water to lose track of all time. It was the perfect ending to the week and will definitely be visited again for some outdoor relaxation breaks.
This little activity and the pictures were the perfect inspiration for my haiku for OSI's prompt this week; dropped.
