Taking Time to Look

While we may feel a sense of guilt upon temporarily abandoning our duties, the tranquility and restfulness that subsequently establish themselves in our hearts and minds will convince us we made the right choice. There is so much we can learn from those parts of life not traditionally associated with education, but it is only when we are willing to give ourselves permission to step outside of our structured comfort zones that we can fully appreciate how replete with beauty the universe truly is. When you take an unfocused approach to growth today, you will discover that there are many ways to achieve a new level of enlightenment. "
Yes, I had trouble with the focus issue, and being carefree and non- serious about work ( does laughing during the in-service and not wanting to listen count?) and yes to the guilt, and double yes to the abandoning our duties; so...I will be looking for my new levels of enlightenment- but I will have to do it tomorrow as I am tired tonight from my spontaneous bike ride and playing on the computer all evening long and successfully avoiding or abandoning all the "work" I brought home to do!
Kids come tomorrow- calm before the storm and this is the neatest the room will look all year!

I am sure Patti.. untidy rooms would give you more delight and comfort.. and yes, all this happens, not because sunsign says so..many I time predictions are made looking at the normal behaviour of people.. well liked the post.. know you are busy.. still missing your visit to my 100th post..do bless it..
I love that you have them sitting in pairs. Plus, I love the peaks into your classroom. You are a wonder, my friend. I love it - so homey.
Of course you didn't want to listen during in-service. You're a teacher, not brain dead. ha. I will be thinking of you. Happy back to school, for real. It's never really real till the kids arrive, is it? I'll be thinking of you!

I just resigned from teaching last year after ten years in the classroom. Made me a little nostalgic to see your lovely room...but oh there is so much I don't envy you for as the chaos ensues!
